Respect the Dandelion Campaign

Bumble bees, beetles, birds, butterflies and a host of other beneficial insects all look to the dandelion as a source of nourishment in early spring. Dandelions appear before a lot of other flowers and ae an important source of food for bees when they most need it. Just leaving grass uncut a little while longer in the spring gives dandelions the time to flourish.
This is the basis of our respect the dandeion campaign. Our logo "Respect the dandelion, save the bees" was introduced in 2021 but really began with a mural on Dawson Street.
Danelions are also finding their way into other murals around town.
